Lesson Four: Photo Sharing
I was excited to play around with this lesson! I have heard of many of these photo sharing sites. I first tried Shutterfly, and got all signed up and everything, but it wouldn't let me upload photos! So, I decided to try Flickr and had the same problems! However, I have used Flickr before in the past, so I do know how it works. I use the photo sharing sites a lot to share photos with my friends and family. I feel like these are a very helpful sights and could be used in a library setting to share photos of activities and conferences. Plus, they are fun to use! Once I get my computer to start uploading pictures I will post the link to my new Flickr account that I made for this lesson.
Lesson Three: Online Meetings
This was an interesting lesson. I went through the lesson and viewed archived webinars. I think this is a very effective tool for communicating with other libraries, and getting information out to a wider audience (especially with how tight travel money is these days). I have done a webinar in the past, for WorldCat training. I was nervous to do it, but upon completion, found that I not only learned just as much as if I would have traveled to a conference but that I also enjoyed it! I really liked this tool.

Lesson 2: Online Communities
I chose Facebook as my Online Community. I have been a member for quite some time, and really enjoy it. It has helped me stay connected with people from many years back. Elementary school, Middle school, High school, college, summer trips, colleagues... you name it, I have friends from there! It is a great way to stay in touch with people that in the past, would have become people you never spoke to again. It has helped me keep in touch with family members as well. There are many way to do this. Through sharing pictures, sending PM'S (e-mails), online chatting, and so much more. Facebook also offers a variety of fun things to do with your friends. This includes sending stickers, playing games, and party groups that allow you to invite guests to certain events. Facebook also has a variety of groups you can join to support certain causes, or just because it is a hobby or interest of yours.
Facebook is a very modern Online Community and I enjoy it very much! It is very useful and a great way to connect with others!

Lesson 1: Blogging
My name is Kat Callaway, and I am the Library Assistant II/Night Supervisor for Emporia State University Libraries and Archives.
I really enjoy using blogger! I am not new to it, and find it to be a useful tool in many aspects! It is great to communicate not only on the work front, but in your personal life as well.
I am excited to be learning about other useful tools through 23 Things Kansas in the coming weeks!
